Dog says, “I love you!”

I have written in the past about dogs smiling when they are happy (Your Dog Just Might Be Smiling At You). Yes, it really is true! When your dog acts happy and looks like he is smiling, he really is. I have even written about the love your dog feels for you (Does Your Dog Really Love You?), but this is different.

This pup takes his emotions one step further and actually says, “I love you!” to his owner.

If you have to see it, um, I mean hear it to believe it then check this out!

Top 10 breeds that bite

I believe that a dog’s disposition is greatly determined by how the owner treats and trains the dog, but the CDC recently published a list of the top 10 dog breeds that are most likely to bite a postal worker.

This list was put together based upon data from last year regarding dog bites and postal workers. I own a Rotty and a Doby, and both are gentle as can be, while our neighbor owns a Golden Retreiver that would bite without warning if it had the chance.

Don’t let this list give you the wrong impression of these breeds, or a false sense of security with other breeds.

1. Pit Bulls
2. Rottweilers
3. German Shepherds
4. Huskies
5. Alaskan Malamutes
6. Doberman pinschers
7. Chows
8. Great Danes
9. Saint Bernards
10. Akitas

The Jack Russel Terrier as a Breed

Jack Russel TerrierThe Jack Russell Terrier is best known for his energetic, humorous, and happy disposition. The Jack Russel is assertive and very loyal and protective. He scrambles to catch small rodents in much the same way that he scrambles to catch his favorite toy. Their incredible intelligence will amaze you, and their best quality is considered by many to be their desire to work; a close second being their reputation as a wonderful companion. The Jack Russel is easily settled down after a round of play or work, and loves to be by your side.

San Fransisco number 1 for pets

San Fransisco has been named the friendliest U.S. city for pets. This is based upon the number of households with pets, number of dog parks, leash-free parks, pet hotels, pet restaurants, and low numbers in animal shelters. Nice job San Fransisco!
