According to the Associated Press, “Animal welfare advocates say the Internet has become the latest vehicle for large-scale dog breeding operations — or “puppy mills†— to sell their wares.”
Because there are no “Lemon Laws” for puppies, buyers of puppies over the Internet are taking a big risk. Many of these puppies are dieased, have birth defects due to inbreeding and overbreeding. The buyer has no recourse because of a lack of laws and regulations in the area of dog retailers online.
