Chewing is a natural behavior for guinea pigs. Their teeth grow throughout their lives, and chewing helps to keep them sharp and filed down. Letting a guinea pigs’s teeth grow continuously without giving it something to chew on is not healthy for your pet guinea pig. Carrots or a block of wood usually are enough to satisfy your pet’s natural instinct. Checking with your vet for other ideas can help, too.
