According to Connie Bloom of McClatchy Newspapers, a company based in Delaware called Flexpetz has started a business in which you can rent a dog for any occassion. It is titled the Flexible Dog Ownership program and is being run in Los Angeles and San Diego. It is designed with busy people in mind who want a dog but just do not have the time to shower the dog with affection and time.
Marlena Cervantes, president and innovator of the company states, “Our members realize that their busy work, family or travel schedules make full-timeownership unfair to a dog.”
The dogs are all Good Citizens and AKC registered. Rentals by the hour or days is acceptable. THe yearly membership fee is $99.95 plus a $39.95 monthly fee.
