Many items in our homes are safe for humans and not safe for our pets. For example, avocados contain a substance called persin that is toxic to your pet. If you ever suspect that your pet has ingested something poisonous, there is an agency called the Animal Poison Control Center with a hotline number (888-426-4435) and 24 hour assistance.
