According to The Associated Press, Kentucky, the horse capital of the world, is being overloaded with unwanted horses. Legislation makes it continually more difficult to send retired race horses, unwanted, and old horses to the slaughterhouse, which is good, but animal shelters and auction houses have more horses than they are able to take care of. Horses can be expensive to care for, but many beautiful horses are available for appropriate owners.
