Mother Cat Nurses Abandoned Pup With Her Kittens

This is definitely a heartwarming and unique story. According to the Associated Press, a mother cat at an animal shelter in Connecticut has adopted a six day old rottweiler that was rejected by his mother. The Rottweiler pup, named Charlie, was one of two puppies born to the female Rottweiler; the other was stillborn. It is not uncommon for the mother to reject the healthy puppy when one is stillborn.

The staff at the animal shelter tried bottle feeding Charlie every two hours, but it was exhausting for them and insufficient for the puppy. A short-haired cat named Satin had just given birth to a litter of kittens, so they put Charlie in with the litter and he was accepted by Satin and her kittens. She nurses him alongside her kittens, and he is doing well.
