Zoo Med has designed the new AvianSunâ„¢ Deluxe Floor Lamp which allows pet bird owners to provide their birds with true full spectrum light, including UVB and UVA. When combined with the AvianSun Flourescent this unique lighting arrangement will provide birds with safe levels of beneficial UVB and UVA. This is necessary for physical and psychological health. UVB allows your pet birds to synthesize vitamin D3 for ultimate calcium metabolism; a necessary process for normal growth, maintenance of strong bones, and egg production. UVA rays are visible to birds, allowing them to recognize mates, find food, and identify other species. Without UVA, birds are colorblind. The AvianSun floor lamp is fully adjustable inside your pet bird’s cage and a mirror is provide for optimum reflection of the light for your pet.
